Beating an Idea to Death

I have been working on the master quest script for my game Epiphany Online. The whole idea is to make the whole questing process random. There is no level requirement to do a certain quest. This should make the gaming process alot more interesting as in the beginning, when it first goes online, there will be noone telling you exactly how to do something. In fact, I am thinking of putting variations in each quest so that your quest may not be exactly like the last persons.

But anyway, back to the subject....I always wander.....

This script has perplexed me as each time I have written it and then implemented it, something just didn't mesh. So I would rewrite it. After messing with it for a while I finally found a script that made it totally random and worked exactly as I wanted it to. So I put it in the game and started putting in blank quests just to test it. It worked great.

Then....as I was driving home from work today I thought of another way to implement all of this with less scripting. So now I am debating as to whether to try this new idea, with the chance of having to climb over more obstacles or just leave well enough alone and move on.

Sometimes, well more times than I like to admit, I tend to overanalyze things. I know there has to be a self-help program for that somewhere :)
